In today’s lesson we are going to learn how to write our own LoFi style hip hop chords and actually practice playing them with an app called Melodics. Let’s get started.

1 Building the scale
Before we can build chord progressions let’s go ahead and pick a scale.
Ooh wait… that sounds so happy, we need more jazzy sadness.
So we change form major to minor.
Let’s go ahead and examine this for a second. this bottom three notes here looks like they make up the major chord.. but if we take a look at the distance between the bottom note and the top note is basically an octave, minus the half step.
